On December 4th, 1872, the Mary Celeste, a merchant ship, was found adrift and abandoned in the Atlantic Ocean. The last entry in the ship’s log had been penned ten days prior. The ship’s cargo was untouched, its provisions, aplenty. The crew’s personal belongings lay intact. In fact, nothing seemed largely amiss aboard the ship, which was disheveled but very much still seaworthy. That is, apart from one leering fact. Of the ten souls onboard the ship when she set sail from New York nearly a month prior, not a single person remained…
